Functional Testing
Functional pathology testing is a great way to understand the root cause of illness, particularly in chronic cases.
While functional testing is not a requirement for all cases, where appropriate it may be recommended that we investigate further using specific pathology tests in order to enhance your treatment protocol.
Tests are conveniently shipped directly to you via Australia Post where you will collect the required sample (blood, stool or urine) and send back to the lab. Your results will be sent directly to your practitioner. You then have the option to book in for either an Initial Naturopathic Consultation (if you have not yet had one) or a Follow Up Consultation (if you have previously seen Rachel) whereby your results will be discussed.

Complete Microbiome Mapping | (stool test kit) | $415
The Complete Microbiome Mapping Test was designed to assess a patient’s microbiome from a single stool sample, with particular attention to microbes that cause disease or that disrupt normal microbial balance and contribute to perturbations in the GI flora and contribute to illness.The panel is a comprehensive collection of microbial targets as well as immune and digestive markers. It screens for pathogenic bacteria, commensal bacteria, opportunistic pathogens, fungi, viruses, and parasites.

Advanced Hormone Health D.U.T.C.H Test | (urine) | $421
The advanced dried urine test for hormones is an ideal test for complex hormone patients. This comprehensive assessment (D.U.T.C.H) is unique for what it can reveal from such a simple collection.
This test will measure and identify: Estrogens, Progestagens, Androgens, Glucocorticoids, free Cortisol , free Cortisone and Melatonin.
The advanced hormone profile is collected off four separate dried urine samples at key time points throughout the same day: 1st morning, 2nd morning, early evening, and bedtime.
Urine is collected on filter paper strips either by dipping it in urine collected in a cup, or by urinating directly on the strip.
This test is ideal for a comprehensive overview of a patient’s hormonal status or trying to find the underlying cause of a real complex hormone related issue.

IgG + IgA 96 Combination | (allergy spot card) | $401
There are several types of immunoglublins that are made in the body. It is important to understand the differences between IgE, IgA and IgG immunoglobulins and when to test for each of them.
Immunoglobulins are a class of proteins which function as antibodies produced by the immune system in response to foreign antibodies such as food antigens.An IgG reaction can occur hours to days after exposure to the allergen; food or inhalant.
This type of reaction is referred to as a delayed sensitivity reaction.
Elevated IgA to specific foods is widely believed to be a sign of damage to the mucous membranes in the gut.
Individuals with Crohn’s disease or ulcerative colitis, or even those with suspected leaky gut may benefit from testing IgA food reactions.
IgA is produced in the greatest quantity in a day.
IgA antibodies are the first line of defence against suspected disease causing agents like viruses and bacteria.
The IgG & IgA general food panel is a useful test in assessing both delayed and damaged mucosal type reactions of 96 general western foods.
This type of testing is useful as it eliminates the broad process of ‘trial and error of eliminating offending foods’ and provides a detailed report for identifying offending foods and a rotation diet based on the test results.
All antigen tests through NutriPATH are ran in duplicates to ensure accurate and meaningful results are provided to the patient for optimal health.

Hair Mineral Analysis - Level 2 | (heavy metals) | $246
Hair metal and mineral analysis measures nutrient and toxic metal content of hair.
As the constituents of the hair are determined by the entry of substances from external sources and from substances that enter it from the blood stream, hair makes an ideal medium for analysis.
Hair can contain minerals and metals and can accumulate over long periods of time.
A wide range of metals and minerals can be measured in one sample to provide status of cellular activity and nutrient metabolism.
Every physiological function in the body is catalysed by minerals.
Since the structure of hair remains unchanged, the minerals are fixed in the hair and levels in hair do not significantly change once that portion of hair has grown.
The analysis accurately provides concentrations of minerals that have accumulated in the hair tissue over the hair growth period, approximately one to three months.
